Railex Restores Balance in Supply Gap of Potatoes for Processing

With Railex’s unique infrastructure and scheduled transit, the company fulfilled a short term supply gap in the Pacific Northwest for processing potatoes. Railex was able to move through its facilities 350 plus truck loads of raw potatoes for processing in a 4 week period from the North East corridor to the Pacific Northwest.

Extreme low processing inventories in the Pacific Northwest called for immediate action, and with an oversupply in eastern Canada, Railex was able to more than accommodate the situation. This East to West move would never have been possible due to the sheer volume of raw product needed in such a small window of opportunity. Railex’s ability to handle the large volume of perishables and streamlined process of lot tracking coupled with temperature controlled storage zones was crucial to the success of this program.

Railex rose to the task and successfully helped fill manufacturer needs in the Pacific Northwest for french fry production, keeping their supply chain intact.

Other potential processing moves: Apples, Carrots, Frozen, Onions, Raw Ingredients. Contact us for more details.
