railex fuel surcharge program
This fuel surcharge program will commence on 04/04/2011 and will apply across the general Railex customer base.
This fuel surcharge program replaces any and all previously issued fuel surcharge programs unless contracted
separately and will remain in effect until otherwise cancelled in writing and/or notice is posted at www.railexusa.com.
Base Cost:The application of any fuel surcharge will be determined by the “National U.S. Average” price per gallon based on the DOE Energy Information Administration (EIA) survey of “Weekly Retail On Highway Diesel Prices” for the Monday thru Saturday of the following week. This price is obtainable via the following website: www.eia.doe.gov. In the event that Monday is a federal holiday, the fuel surcharge will be based on the DOE price available on the next business day (Tuesday).
Calculation of Fuel Surcharge:The “National U.S. Average” fuel price will be applied to the fuel price adjustment index shown below to
determine the applicable fuel surcharge that will be effective the Tuesday, after the DOE publication, for the Monday thru Saturday of the
following week. Note: When the cost of fuel is below $2.299 per gallon, the Fuel Surcharge does not apply.
