Railex is bringing the wine for Dinner…

Railex is proud to be selected as Southern Wine and Spirits newest partner to transport specialty Pacific Northwest wines for Southern Wine and Spirits to the New York and New Jersey Markets, bringing Washington’s finest selections to your dinner table.  The Railex platform will deliver SWS product safer, fresher and damage free.  Utilizing the Railex platform Southern Wine and Spirits has seen a decrease in overall transit time versus other modes.  Railex has the ability to ship from one pallet to over 10,000 pallets per train in their specially designed refrigerated boxcars. Utilizing the RF inventory control systems Railex is able to track each item and ensure every case is delivered on time.

The wine is loaded in Washington State on Thursday and is transported at speeds approaching 70 miles per hour while maintaining 55 degrees across the United States.  When the train arrives in New York on the following Tuesday, it is handled by specially trained teams immediately on to waiting trucks where it is sent for delivery on the same day.  Our specially designed warehouse allows the wine to move directly from boxcar to trailer and does not even touch the floor of the facility. 

This is a wonderful partnership between Southern Wine and Spirits and the entire Railex team looks forward to opening the program up to other wine shippers in Washington State and Oregon.  Railex has the ability to perform specialized express wine transportation for shipments that range in size from a single pallet to over 10,000 pallets per week at competitive rates.
